On the 13th of May 1935 T.E. Shaw, formerly T.E. Lawrence, known as Lawrence of Arabia, was returning from Bovington village a mile away to his cottage of Clouds Hill.
The road ahead, one that he knew well, was clear. Four hundred yards from his home he collided with two boys on bicycles riding in the same direction.
He then slid along the rough road, ending his journey against a tree.
He died six days later on the morning of 19th May 1935 as a result of his injuries.
His inquest followed on the morning of the 21st of May, delivering the verdict of “died accidentally from injuries received”. That same afternoon his funeral was held.
And that would be the end of Lawrence’s story were it not for one key fact. A black car. And the many many questions that followed after it.
The 230 page book "Who Killed Lawrence of Arabia" is the foundation for the documentary and investigates in-depth the various aspects of the crash with plates, maps and images and who might have the means, motive and opportunity to remove him.
